Monte McNaughton has been involved
in politics since he was a young man. His grade six teacher once
wrote, “He found he can’t be President, George Bush is safe no doubt, but
as for Mr. Mulroney, you sir had better look out.”
Monte McNaughton first entered local
politics in 1997 when, at age 20, he was elected to Newbury’s municipal
council. While on council, Monte has sat on various boards and committees
including the Four Counties Health Services Board of Directors. Most
recently, he served as chair of the Economic Development Committee.
Monte McNaughton takes our rural
communities seriously and Monte is known for offering fresh ideas for growing
Newbury’s local economy. Monte introduced a motion to scrap all building
permit fees and eliminating the first year’s municipal portion of property
taxes for anyone who chooses to build a home in Newbury.
Since graduating from Westervelt
Business College and successfully completing executive development programs
at the Ivey School of Business, Monte McNaughton works as an owner and
General Manager at the McNaughton Family Shopping Centre, a retail outlet
home to M&M Meat Shops, CARQUEST Auto Parts, Home Hardware Buiding
Centre, and LCBO Agency Store in Newbury.
Monte McNaughton believes in the
rural way of life. Monte wants integrity to be restored in politics.
Monte believes in a “government of the people, by the people and for the
people.” Monte is a community leader and he will be a strong voice
for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex and the rural way of life. Monte McNaughton
knows and understands rural Ontario.
Monte was recently acclaimed as the
PC Candidate for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex in the upcoming 2007 Provincial
Election. |
